Our school community gathered to honor our veterans in a meaningful and heartfelt Veterans Day assembly. Our students did an incredible job—our young readers shared touching words, the band played a beautiful tribute, and the VFW presented the Patriot’s Pen winners with well-deserved recognition. Thank you to our veterans, students, families, and community members who joined us to celebrate and remember the bravery and sacrifice of those who have served. We are grateful for your dedication and the example you set for our students.

Retake Picture Day is 11/15/2024! If you're satisfied with your child's picture, no further action is required.
If you purchased and were unhappy with your Picture Package, please send your Picture Package to school with your student on Retake Day. Your Retake Picture Package will be produced and shipped to the school four weeks after Retake Day. Please note, if your child is photographed on the original and Retake Picture Days, the Retake picture will replace the original picture in certain products, like the yearbook.
Students who were absent for Picture Day should come to school prepared to have their picture taken. If you have not preordered, please use the Retake Order Code 87909SF to place your order at https://inter-state.com/Order. To see your Order History, check your Inter-State Account.

Sharing with you the Art Newsletter for Fall from Mrs. Schneman linked here: https://5il.co/30sep
Have a wonderful weekend!

During today's reunification practice drill, students and staff were at Mansfield UMC for approximately 20 minutes. During the time at the church, an odor was noticed and reported to the pastor. Ameren was contacted and they arrived on site right after our students and staff were released to return back to BRIJHS. Ameren found a small gas leak in the church's water heater that they repaired on the spot.
Out of an abundance of caution, we contacted the Dewitt County health department to seek their recommendation for anyone who may feel ill following their time in the church so we could share this information with you. The Health Department staff stated that for any of the following symptoms- headache, nausea, vomiting, lethargy, or passing out, you should contact your primary care physician. Also recommended by the Health Department was pushing fluids. Thank you for your understanding.

THe Blue Ridge HS Veterans Day program is Monday, November 11th starting at 2:20pm in new gym. Anyone is welcome to attend.

As a reminder, our safety drills begin this morning. BRIJHS leads the way at 9 am, followed by Schneider at 1 pm. BRHS will take their turn tomorrow morning, beginning at 9 am. Our drills will include a practice reunification component. Parents will not be participating in these drills. We aim to include parents in that portion of the drill next year. Thank you for supporting this process. #br_u_knighted

Mrs. Brackenhoff's first-grade class recently completed an exciting Pumpkin Exploration Project. In groups, students recorded details about their pumpkins, including size, color, and number of ribs. They also measured the height, circumference, and weight of each pumpkin. This week, the class wrapped up their exploration by cutting open the pumpkins to observe the insides and count the seeds. Students collaborated to find the best method for counting the seeds, filling the room with laughter and smiling faces. It was a fantastic experience for everyone involved!
